Review by Amy about  KAMERGERSKY
Kamergersky Pereulok is an excellent location and the apartment was roomy and lovely. (I was there alone; I think it would be great for two people, but four people would have to be very comfortable with each other to stay there.) It is certainly a beautiful place both inside and through the window view, plus of course there is the quick walk to Red Square via Tverskaya Street.

It would be so helpful to have instructions as fully for the stove and the washing machine as for the television. Also, at least during my stay, the hot water was limited to the shower only, which got quite hot. (So washing dishes was a bit difficult.)

For future renters, and I do highly recommend the apartment, it is crucial that you know that you do not enter on Kamergersky Pereulok itself. There is an arch between the first building (currently Yves Rocher) and the next; you go through that arch and make a left turn, reversing your direction to go up a flight of stairs to a door in the corner. I had come from SVO by Aeroexpress and Metro to Tverskaya. (Teatralnaya/Okhotny Riad is actually closer, but a bit uphill.) I did not have these directions and was carting my suitcase all over Kamergersky Pereulok late at night to try to find the entrance, which is not labeled. Through the kindness of one of the service industry people on the pereulok, I was able to at last find the place. I had called the phone number that I had, but was told that it was no longer in service; rather scary!

Review by Yvonne Villemure about  ARBAT RITZ
I stayed in this apartment on my second adoption trip in late August. I found the apartment was clean and cozy. Building 26 felt very secure with a key fob entry system. I liked the fact that it had a separate bedroom and kitchen. The cordless phone for International calling was a nice perk too. I had planned to try and book this apartment for my third trip; however, it was not available this round. I would definitely recommend Peace Travel and this apartment to others. I am looking forward to my third trip using Peace Travel.

Review by MlIntnl about  TVERSKOY BOULEVARD
For our holiday in Moscow in June 2012 we wanted to rent an apartment. From the wide choice of rental companies available, we decided on Peace Travel Services. This was based on their universally good reviews and recommendations online. We were not disappointed with our choice.

From our very first communication with Peace Travel Services the previous December there was almost instant responses by Dmitry to my emails and queries. All our questions were addressed in detail without delay. Visa invitations were promptly sent to us when we requested them in April and we had no problem getting our Russian visas from the local Russian embassy.

From Domodedovo airport we used public transport, Aeroexpress to Paveletskaya and metro to Tverskaya. This apartment is up 1 flight of stairs (possibly called 2nd floor in Russia & elsewhere; known as 1st floor where I come from !), in a building in a courtyard back from the boulevard. Entrance to the courtyard is through a security gate adjacent to the caf?/cake shop, diagonally opposite the Gorky Moscow Art Theatre (Gorky MKhAT), a large modern building. There is a security keypad on the building entrance door and a heavy multi-lock door on the apartment itself.

We were actually early for our check-in appointment but the check-in person was there and let us in. He briefed us on the facilities and even kindly looked up some items on his online phone for us, as we did not have a laptop/IPad. He asked what day we wanted maid service (for change of towels etc). We said mid-holiday, and this took place while we were out sightseeing.

The apartment is spacious, comfortable, very quiet and for us it was a perfect base for the holiday. The website photographs give a good impression of it, but if anything I think it is even better in reality.

It has the added advantage of being only a few minutes walk from the Tverskaya metro, giving rapid and efficient access to practically all of Moscow. We bought a 60 journey metro ticket that we shared, and used extensively.

This stretch of the Tverskoy Boulevard is very attractive with the lovely linear park, trees and ample greenery. Caf? Pushkin is nearby and we dined there, which was a memorable experience.

We found a very good nearby supermarket at 11 Bolshoi Bronnaya ulitsa, literally a short distance across the boulevard. Food is also available for eat-in or takeaway at the adjacent caf? and there is a kiosk at the boulevard for bottled water and similar.

Just a little advice, namely to leave sufficiently ample time from check-out for onward travel. I had arranged for the check-out person to be with us at 10.00am. By 10.15, no one had arrived so I rang our Peace Travel contact. The check-out person (different to the check-in person) arrived at 10.30am. We still made Domodedovo Airport via metro & Aeroexpress in good time for our flight home but it was a little more hurried that I had planned.

The security keypad for entrance to the building itself malfunctioned from Sunday night and was still out of order on the Tuesday of our departure. This presumably affected all residents of the building. I rang our contact on the Monday about it. We were still able to get into the building but it took a little longer compared to just keying in the security code. Of course I assume that the building maintenance is probably not the sole responsibility of Peace Travel.

Based on our very positive experiences with Peace Travel Services throughout, when we return to Moscow we will definitely stay in one of their apartments and would unhesitatingly again rent this lovely one on the Boulevard.

Great place overall and in an excellent location. Pros: quiet, air conditioning, stand up fan, free internet, comfy bed, and satellite TV. Cons: squeaky floor, oven was gas and we did not know how to operate it...it would have been nice to have instructions. We would stay here again if given the opportunity.

Review by Jeff&Erin about  THE OLD ARBAT ART DECO SUITE
We spent 6 nights in this apartment for our 3rd adoption trip. It was so nice having the extra space with our newly adopted daughter and the ability to cook our own meals was outstanding. Old Arbat street is a 1 min walk from the apartment building exit and is right across from Hard Rock Cafe along with many other restaurants for those who prefer to eat out. There's also a great grocery store, "7th Continent" which is only a 4-5 min walk to the West end of Arbat St next to the McDonald's. Free WiFi and international calls worked wonderfully. This apartment is safe, clean, quiet and for the most part comfortable. The shower is a bit awkward just because of the unique tub design but the large tub was definitely a treat for our daughter's nightly bath time, it was almost equivalent to a small kids play pool. The mattress in the main bedroom is firmer than average and has a few areas where you can feel the springs so if the rental company is looking to sink any money into the apartment I'd start by replacing this mattress. Also, the kitchen was lacking a few items such as can opener, more cooking utensils and some small non-stick fry pans. Otherwise the kitchen had everything we needed. We'd definitely stay here again and have nothing but positive things to say about our experience with Peace Travel Services.

Review by Michelle & Sean about  THE OLD ARBAT PRESTIGE
My husband and I stayed here for our second trip of three for the adoption of our baby girl. We have already rebooked for our return in a few weeks to pick up our daughter. We found the space very functional and it is a great location for walking pretty much anywhere you'd like to go (not so good for driving). It was quiet, and we slept well even considering the 12 hour time difference from San Francisco! Recommend.

First, you can?t go wrong with Peace Travel. They do what they say they will do, and will do everything they can to accommodate your needs. Dimitry, was able to help us get this apartment in the same building when we had to extend our stay and the first apartment was booked. He also helped by looking up train schedules for us and arranged a taxi for the ride to the train station. I feel like we were high maintenance, and it was very nice to have someone that speaks very good English to deal with.
The apartment was nice, and the location was great. There are many American restaurants within walking distance; however they tend to be more expensive. There are 2 grocery stores across the road. You can find plenty to cook in the apartment. We had Peace arrange a driver to pick us up at the airport, the driver was very helpful and showed us up to the apartment. He even waited a long time for us, because our luggage was lost and had to wait a long time at the claims office. One note make sure you have a way to contact the Peace Travel Moscow office while traveling, email address, phone number and skype. We missed one of our flights and didn?t have the right contact info not to mention very little time between new flights to try to make new arrangements. So the driver showed up for the first arrival time. We were very happy all around with peace travel. We never had any safety concerns in or around the building. I would suggest providing instructions for the washing machine in English that would be a big help.
The other apartment we stayed in was Arbatsky Suite, it was a little bigger and nice as well.
We will be staying there again soon.

Review by Jeff&Erin about  THE OLD ARBAT PRESTIGE
We stayed in this apartment for the 2nd trip of our adoption travels and really enjoyed our time. The "adoptive family" pricing is a nice reassurance given uncertainties of adoption travels. We much preferred the apartment experience compared to staying in a hotel during our 1st trip. Being able to prepare food in your apartment is so much less stressful and less expensive than eating at restaurants.
The apartment is quiet, clean, comfortable. We felt very safe/secure in the apartment and while walking around Arbat St. WiFi was very fast, allowing constant connectivity and crystal clear video skype with family back in the USA. Also, free international calling was clear and easy to use. 2 min walk to Arbat St with plenty of restaurants if you desire. We cooked all meals in the apartment and the "7th Continent" grocery store at the West end of Arbat St. is only 5-7 min walk, open 24hrs and very comparable to grocery stores in the U.S; highly recommend this store. Apartment only has a stove-top so don't buy food that requires an oven.

If your you have a young child with you there's an included pack and play but no suitable sleeping for older children.

Only room for improvement is a couch or comfortable lounge chairs for reading/relaxing/watching TV. The apartment has ample room. If a sleeper couch could be included then this apartment would be all the better, especially for families traveling with older children.

Review by JDDCE about  KAMERGERSKY
This apartment is in an excellent location close to Red Square. There is a convenient store nearby where we purchased some groceries. However, we were unable to buy diapers there. We had three adults, one child and an infant staying in the apartment and had plenty of space. We thought the apartment was very comfortable and would recommend it to anyone looking for an apartment close to Red Square.

Review by Mora Family about  KAMERGERSKY
This was a good apartment and a great price. The location is GREAT. It is so close to the Kremlin and Red Square. We walked there in about 4 minutes. There is a lot of great food options near by and a lot of foot traffic. The apartment manager was great. We had a problem with our oven and she came right up to take a look at it.

The internet was fast and the rooms were very spacious. There is only a shower though, which was great for us, but if I had a little one with me, I would want to have a tub too.

We did have the same problem as the review below, with the odor in the bathroom. We figured out it was the water coming from the toilette and sink. I think there is a high sulfer content. We just made sure we kept the toilette seat cover closed when not in use and shut the bathroom door. So, it wasn't a problem.

Anyway, It worked out well for us and we had a great visit!

Review by SusanT about  GARDEN RING
No complaints about the apartment - spacious, convenient and fully functional. Our only concern was a phone call late one night from the apartment representative. We had a baby sleeping in the crib provided by the apartment which the representative knew about but that didn't seem to make a difference. We would stay in the apartment again.

Dear Susan,

thank you for your review. We're sorry for the late call, we'll speak to the responsible manager about that.

Review by Kathy about  WHITE HOUSE
Great location on New Arbat. Just a block from Old Arbat. 30 minute walk down to Kremlin/Red Square/St.Basils Cathedral. Located near 2 big grocery stores - one on New Arbat and one next to McDonald's on Old Arbat. Shopping center and mall across the street. Cinema next door. Window view of Kremlin in the distance and New Arbat. Can see a lot of Moscow from the 22nd floor. Apartment is well heated. Fully furnished. The building is very secure. Apartment gives you a true feel for Russian life. Wireless internet was great. Was able to find a couple english speaking channels on the TV. Free international calls was wonderful.

This apartment met our needs perfectly. The location is excellent with very easy walking access to Red Square and to the American Embassy. The kitchen was well equipped and being able to cook our own meals saved us a ton of money. There is a grocery store within a quick walk as well. Overall, I would highly recommend this apartment!

Review by Matt and Sue Brower about  LESNAYA
This apartment was our home away from home for a 10 day stay in Moscow. We were very comfortable and where we were able to relax after our busy days. It is not a fancy place, but it has everything that we needed and we felt very much "at home" there. Staying in this apartment we really were experiencing life in Moscow for a brief time. The building seemed quite secure (accessible only by special key) and the apartment itself has two doors for added security. There are 2 phones, 1 for local calls, and the other for free international calling. We were able to call home to America several times a day to check in with the kids and the wireless internet allowed us to use Skype, post pictures, and check email daily. This communication made our stay much easier on the family than previous trips. There is a small corner market at the corner of Lesnaya where we could purchase packaged foods. Belaruskaya metro station was 10-15 min walk. We took train 1 two stops to Prospect Mira and then changed trains to Ryscaya (1 stop) ...there is a large 3 story 24 hr grocery/department store here, large farmers market with fresh fruit, veggies, salads, and meats. There are instruction in Russian and English about how to use the phones and a map of the metro lines, but I wish they would add directions about how to use the washing machine. I did get the clothes clean, but I am still not sure what I set it on.

Review by Christian Gagnon (Canada) about  ARBAT EXECUTIVE SUITE
We stayed in this apartment on our first adoption trip. We also took their transportation service from and to the airport wich was great. Both drivers were very friendly and talked good english.

The location of the apartment was great on New Arbat street where we can find a lot of stores and restaurant in walking distances. It's also in walking distance to Kremlin and Red Square.

The apartment itself is very comfortable and well equiped. We were surprised how comfortable the bed was. Everything was clean.

Review by Kent about  THEATER SUITE
The apartment is located just a short walk to the Kremlin/Red Square/St.Basil's. If you prefer the sights and sounds of the big city, this is a great location. The traffic noise on Tverskaya street can be a bit loud if you are a light sleeper. The apartment itself was clean but in need of a freshening. The kitchen is small but functional and everything worked. Overall, if you are looking for a relatively inexpensive place to stay near the city center, this apartment is worth considering. If you are looking for the equivalent of a modern hotel with a kitchen, this is not going to meet your expectations. As an aside, everything we requested (iron, cell phone, etc.) was delivered as promised. Also, the free international phone calls were reliable and clear. We did not have any issues with the hot water as noted below.

Review by Greg Black about  NEW ARBAT 22 RETRO SUITE
Overall this apartment was fine. Internet worked great, we felt safe and everything was working. The bed is a double so it is kind of small for two people. Also the AC is only in the living room so the bedroom does not cool off too well. Can't open a window at night because of all the street noise from below. Also you can't take a shower. It has one of those wands but when you hang it on the wall it just shoots straight back and gets everything wet, so you will have to hold it by hand.

Dear Greg,

Thank you for your review. We'll look into that shower issue.

Review by Moscow Traveler about  GARDEN RING
The positives to this apartment are the price and location. It was cheaper than any hotel I could find within the Garden Ring. It is located on New Arbat street, close to the embassy and not too far from the Kremlin and Red Square.
There were several negatives, though. The floors, walls and pipes looked like they hadn't been washed in a long time.
The bathroom often smelled like the plumbing were backed up.
The stove stopped working briefly.
I got shocked when i pulled a plug out of the socket and shocked again on the dishwasher - I think there might have been an electrical problem.
I was able to make one free international call. After that, no dial tone.
My last night in the apartment, there was no wifi, no int'l. calls and no local calls.
As long as you know the negatives ahead of time, it still may be worth it to you to rent this apt. As I said, location and price were great.

Thank you for your review!
Yes, you have to be careful with the power sockets because the plugs may go off when you move the kitchen furniture so it's best not to move the stove and the dishwasher at all. I'm sure the Internet problem will be fixed soon and the international calls too. We can also provide a calling card if the main dial-around service isn't working for some reason.
